2019 is quickly approaching which means it’s the perfect to share my vision board! My vision board features my dreams, goals and desires for the new year. I enjoy visuals so a vision board is the best way to see a glimpse of what I want to actualize and work towards throughout the year. New years goals are personal and shouldn’t be bound to specific rules and regulations. Instead, I believe in slowly implementing changes and adjusting throughout the year. Goals are about you and are a part of your progression. This past year, I progressed into being what I call a positive version of a “yes woman”.
My 2018 mantra was based on the phrase “if not now, then when?” I said yes to opportunities that I never could have imagined coming my way. I lived in Salt Lake City for three months, traveled to meet with top tech companies twice, won awards, secured a job offer, became a woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and graduated in 3.5 years! None of this would have ever occurred if I stayed timid or didn’t just say yes. 2018 is the foundation I needed before I set forth into true adulthood.
2019 will be a year of growth and change, learning and working. My vision board consists of home decor and design, saving money, travel, hair growth, work success and so much more. As I worked on my board, the quote, “I never dreamt of success. I worked for it” truly stuck out to me and may just become this year’s mantra. Success for 2019 will be adjusting well, finding my routine and laying the foundation for my adult life.
This time next year, I’ll be a year one year out of college and almost one year in the corporate world. Maybe I’ll have my first promotion or finally get that French Bulldog I’ve wanted for years. Until then, check back soon for more moving updates!
